SPAIN’S PRIME MINISTER SUPPORTS SKYDWELLER

Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, affirmed his commitment and gratitude to Skydweller’s executives during a visit to Skydweller’s test flight center at Albacete Airport in Spain.  He was was accompanied by Spain’s Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, and the regional president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García Page

Albacete, April 3, 2023 – The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, expressed his support, and that of his government, for the Skydweller solar-powered unmanned aircraft endeavor, during a visit to the company’s hangar at Albacete airport.  Sanchez stated that the Government’s support for Skydweller “represents a commitment to cutting-edge technological sectors, such as aerospace, promoting zero emission technologies, linking reindustrialization and cutting-edge technology with territorial cohesion; and showing commitment to science, innovation and entrepreneurship in our country”.

Skydweller’s President & Chief Executive Officer Robert Miller noted that “Skydweller is bringing important economic benefits to Spain. It has created and will continue to create high-quality jobs and foster the growth of local industries through R&D and industrial cooperation. It will allow Spain to reinforce its leadership in the development and manufacture of state-of-the-art aerospace technology, and above all to be a bulwark of sustainable innovation, which constitutes the core of our activity”.

SkyDweller’s Chief Operating Officer Laurent Sissmann stated that, in addition to the US, France and Luxembourg, “the Government of Spain is an important partner for Skydweller.  We are a rapidly emerging start-up, and receiving enhanced government’s attention and support is of paramount significance for us as we locate crucial aspects of our technology development effort in Spain.”

Sebastien Renouard, Skydweller’s Chief Commercial Officer of EMEA, emphasized that the project “constitutes a technological breakthrough that will revolutionize aviation as we know it. This is a perpetual, entirely solar-powered flight project that continues the Spanish tradition of excellence in aviation and marks a milestone in the fields of national defense, particularly the surveillance of Spain’s coasts and environment, as well as telecommunications”.
